lilith is an independent jewelry brand preserving the soul of eccentricity.

the brand was first conceived in florence, italy, and officially born in los angeles, california, raised between the underground scene and the fine jewelry industry. lilith was developed as an alternative to the contemporary luxury market where inflated prices and cult consumerism dictate fashion. our jewelry is designed by and for the alternative, queer, and unusual divas. each piece is created with intention. we reject the notion of luxury exclusivity and are committed to keeping our pieces accessible to the communities we design for.

our designs combine our training in old world technique with modern experimental materials to deliver a distinct perspective to the market. though originally trained in fine jewelry, lilith focuses on aluminum and stainless steel jewelry to create unrelenting, maximalist silhouettes. the inspiration is rooted in counterculture: the underground, the bohemian, the radical, and the outsider.

lilith is an expression of identity. a meditation on the overlapping boundaries of femininity, masculinity, power, sensuality, and the meaning of adornment. every jewel is designed with passion and resistance.

a seven pointed star is a sacred symbol across the globe. it can represent purity, unity, and can be used to ward off evil. for us, it takes the shape of a shield, protecting your energy and passion, becoming a symbol of self-expression and authenticity.

in alchemy, it represents the seven alchemical substances (fire, water, air, earth, sulphur, salt, and mercury) and the seven stages of transformation:

  1. calcination: breaking free from worldly attachments, the desire for wealth, and rigid, constricting identities.
  2. dissolution: dissolving the ego and letting go of shame, trauma, and self doubt.
  3. separation: leaving behind resentment, negativity, and attachment into a state of unattached awareness and presence.
  4. conjunction: uniting our polarities, breaking free from the binary. masculine and feminine, body and soul, emotion and intellect, spirit and matter become one.
  5. fermentation: the rotting of the ego and the birth of the spiritual self.
  6. distillation: clearing any remaining doubt, hatred, and ego.
  7. coagulation: self actualization. living as your true, authentic self, freed from the ego and the boundaries of social expectation.

OUR MATERIALS

lilith uses three different types of metals across our work: aluminum, stainless steel, and sterling silver.

ALUMINUM is a lightweight, versatile metal. it is used for everything from tin foil to aircrafts. we utilize it for our thick, oversized cable chains that would be too heavy in steel and too expensive in silver. alunimum is also an easy to cut and shape material, so we use it to create our tags and charms like the stars on the left. pure aluminum is considered hypoallergenic and safe for skin contact in the vast majority of the population (aluminum allergies are possible, but very unlikely!). unlike silver, aluminum does not develop a black tarnish, so it does not require upkeep.

STAINLESS STEEL is a durable, low maintenance metal for jewelry making. we utilize it for parts that require a strong, reliable connection, such as jumprings, clasps, and earrings. quality stainless steel is suitable for piercing jewelry and does not cause irritation to the skin. like aluminum, it does not tarnish or discolor.

STERLING SILVER is a traditional metal for jewelry. it is the ideal metal for casting, so we choose to make our rings out of silver. it can also be soldered and resized if you need to change ring sizes, and it is safe in case of emergency and you need to have a ring cut off. sterling silver tarnishes and may require polishing upkeep to maintain a shiny surface.
